What Are Locked Gadgets In Blogger Templates
In blogger templates there are two types of gadgets i.e Locked Gadgets in blogger templates and unlocked gadgets. Locked gadgets are those which can not be updated or removed from blogger templates and do not contain Remove option and unlocked gadgets in blogger templates are those which can be updated or removed easily. While making a blog on blogger platform we see many gadgets in layout section i.e Blog Posts, Random Posts, Popular Posts, Recent Posts, Favicon, Header etc but many of these are locked. Now the question is why are these gadgets lock? The answer is because the designers of the templates customize these locked gadgets to work properly at the current position. For example if designers design Favicon gadget at the sidebar of blog template it will not look good but if they design this at the top it will be visible to all and will be good looking.

How To Recognize Whether Gadget Is Lock Or Unlock
Sometimes we want to upload an SEO friendly Templates for our blogger blog. After uploading templates we discover that some gadgets are not essential. So we try to update or remove these inessential gadgets in blogger templates. We keep the gadgets required to us and remove other gadgets which are not necessary. Sometimes we observe that some gadgets are not removable means having no "Remove" option and these are called locked gadgets in blogger templates. The gadgets having "Remove" option are called unlocked gadgets.
➽ Layout is now open and you can see all gadgets.
➽ Now you want to check whether gadget is lock or unlock.
➽ Click pencil sign (Edit).
➽ If the gadget has "Remove" option then it is unlocked while locked gadgets has no "Remove" option.
How To Unlock The Lock Gadgets
➽ Open blogger dashboard and select Layout tab.
➽ Now select a lock gadget you want to unlock or remove.
➽ A new window will be opened.
➽ Click the URL in the new window and select last part of the URL containing WidgetID.
➽ Copy widget ID and go to Themes tab.
➽ Click Edit HTML tab.
➽ Now click anywhere in theme area and press Ctrl+F from your keyboard, Paste widget ID and press Enter.
➽ You will see that in HTML code net to locked is true, change this true to false and click Save Themes.
➽ Again go to Layout tab and open gadget you have edited earlier.
➽ You will see "Remove" option under this.
